My Travel Inspiration
Hi!, my name is Steve Holmes from Australia and I have been fortunate to travel extensively over the past 20 years in particular. For me however, travel was not something I grew up with. My first and only trip was with family to Hong Kong when I was 8 years old, and for various reasons I did not travel internationally or even domestically for approximately another 15+ years.
Still, this family trip I experienced as a kid left a lasting impression on me that I have more than made up for recently. My love of travel, coupled with a love of photography, has provided me with a wealth of wonderful memories and experiences. I hope that by sharing my experiences I may help even just a few travelers looking for tips on air travel experiences onboard and on the ground, along with destination and hotel tips.
I hope to also provide advice on using points to experience business class travel for very little money, making this wonderful mode of travel attainable to many people.
On long-haul flights, instead of dreading being stuck on a plane for 14 hours, you can't wait to get to the airport!.
Destinations Traveled
My travels around the world have been primarily for leisure but some business travel has been experienced also. I have visited the USA thirteen times to date, seeing both the big cities and small town USA, including New York (personal all-time favourite!), Chicago, San Francisco, Washington DC, New Orleans, Phoenix, Vegas and LA. However, driving around the states always brings a feeling of freedom in the open roads. Personal favourites include Rangeley Lake in Maine, Gettysburg, Death Valley, a tiny town called Sandwhich, New Hampshire, and the unforgettable Monument Valley.
Elsewhere around the world, I have visited Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Closer to home, New Zealand and Fiji have both been lovely places to explore.
in Europe, whilst this is a region I have not yet travelled through as extensively, I have been to the England, Finland, Italy, Germany and France and very much look forward to expanding this in future.
